As both a performer and composer, Stefan Kac has been
recognized nationally as a rising star. In 2005, he
was a finalist in the Minnesota Orchestra's
prestigious WAMSO Young Artists Competition, the
winner of the International Tuba Euphonium
Association's Upper Midwest Regional Solo Competition,
and became the first tubist ever selected to attend
Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead Program at the Kennedy
Center in Washington D.C.

Locally, he has been
featured with a diverse range of artists and
ensembles, including the Phil Hey Quartet, Mick
Sterling, and the St. Paul Civic Symphony. He is also
a published composer and a private instructor at the
West Bank School of Music in Minneapolis.

Some of his tunes that are played with the PMT are "The
Brazen Mrs. Montgomery", "Code Blue", "The Dollhouse",  
"Room 3", "Isolation" and "Washingotn Avenue Bridge Theme".
